Murree Police Achieve 90% Success Rate Against Serious Crimes

Murree police achieved a 90% success rate against serious crimes in 2026. They arrested 12 suspects in murder cases and rescued 17 kidnap victims, including two children and 15 women.

Authorities recovered Rs. 11 million worth of stolen assets and returned them to their rightful owners. In addition, police seized 40 kilograms of hashish and arrested 36 proclaimed offenders.

The operations also led to the recovery of financial crime proceeds: 45 tolas of gold valued at Rs. 9 million and Rs. 2 million in cash. Furthermore, police recovered 18 cattle and seven mobile phones during their efforts.

In a crackdown on illegal weapons, authorities seized 18 pistols and four rifles. The Safe City Project in Murree is now complete, featuring installed surveillance cameras to enhance security.

A new ‘Text to DPO’ service allows residents to send direct complaints to the District Police Officer. This initiative aims to improve community engagement with law enforcement.

Additionally, Punjab’s first sky glass bridge project received approval in Kotli Sattian, located within the Murree district. Construction of the Murree Glass Train project is set to begin within one month.

The period from April 15 to July 15 is declared as fire season to protect forests in the Rawalpindi division, including Murree. Observers expect continued efforts from local authorities to maintain safety and security in the region.
