Donald Trump responded to the shooting by referring to Allen as a “whack job” and a “lone wolf.” His comments reflect a broader concern over violence directed at public figures. Allen had a history of making radical statements according to his sister, raising questions about his motivations.
Allen worked as a part-time teacher at C2 Education and was trained as an engineer. He graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 2017 with a degree in mechanical engineering. His background contrasts sharply with his actions on that night.
He purchased a shotgun in August 2025 and a semi-automatic pistol in October 2023. The FBI executed a search warrant at Allen’s home in Torrance, California, as part of their ongoing investigation.

Authorities charged Allen with two counts of using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer. He previously donated $25 to ActBlue with a memo for “Harris for President,” indicating possible political motivations.
