Shankar described reports of his exit as “fake news,” but acknowledged the reality of the situation, stating, “I was in talks, and it was supposed to happen, but it didn’t because of legal issues.” He expressed hope that if director Priyadarshan is involved, he might reconsider his participation.

Shankar further elaborated on the complications, noting, “He has to do one film, then write another, then shoot it, so he keeps on going.
