Delta Air Lines has taken significant steps to enhance its in-flight entertainment offerings by partnering with Amazon Leo for improved Wi-Fi services. This collaboration, announced recently, marks a pivotal development in Delta’s ongoing efforts to provide better connectivity for its passengers.

The agreement entails the installation of advanced Wi-Fi services on 500 aircraft, with the rollout expected to commence in 2028. This initiative follows Delta’s previous launch of its Wi-Fi offering at CES Las Vegas three years ago, which laid the groundwork for this latest advancement.

As part of the new services, Delta will offer free access to The New York Times for its SkyMiles members. This access will be available through Delta Sync Wi-Fi and will also be integrated into the in-seat in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, allowing passengers to enjoy news and articles during their flights.

Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta, stated, “Delta’s future is global,” highlighting the airline’s commitment to expanding its services and enhancing the travel experience for its customers.

In a related development, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of a new direct route between Lahore and Manchester. This route will operate with one weekly flight in each direction, marking a significant expansion for PIA.

The Lahore to Manchester flight (PK709) is scheduled to depart every Saturday at 12:25 PM, while the return flight (PK710) will operate every Friday at 7:30 PM. The flight duration from Manchester to Lahore is approximately eight hours, while the reverse journey takes about eight and a half hours.

PIA recently resumed direct flights from Lahore to London on March 30, 2026, after a six-year hiatus, further emphasizing its efforts to enhance connectivity between Pakistan and the UK.

Julieta McCurry, Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity at Delta, remarked, “This partnership is a natural fit: Delta connects the world, and The New York Times helps its readers understand it,” underscoring the synergy between the two organizations.
