The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has expanded to include eight teams for the first time, marking a significant development in the tournament’s history. The 11th edition of the league is set to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026, with matches being staged across six venues, a first for the PSL.
Sikandar Raza, a key player for the Lahore Qalandars, arrived in Islamabad ahead of the tournament on March 18, 2026. Raza has played 34 matches in the PSL, scoring 591 runs and taking 20 wickets, making him a vital asset for his team. Sameen Rana, a representative of the Qalandars, stated, “Sikandar Raza is a pillar of the Lahore Qalandars setup,” emphasizing his importance to the team’s dynamics.
The tournament will feature two new franchises: Pindiz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen. The Lahore Qalandars are set to open the tournament against the Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, with each team scheduled to play ten group-stage matches. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the final at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 3, 2026.
Gaddafi Stadium will host the most matches in PSL 11, with a total of 15 games scheduled at the venue. In total, the tournament will comprise 44 matches, showcasing a range of talent from across the participating teams.
Atif Aslam, a renowned singer, will headline the PSL 11 anthem, adding a cultural touch to the sporting event. His involvement has been described as part of “a new era” for the PSL, highlighting the league’s efforts to blend sports and entertainment.
