Emirates flights resume operations at Dubai International Airport
Emirates airline has resumed flight operations at Dubai International Airport after briefly suspending services due to an air defense incident. The airport had temporarily halted operations following the interception of an aerial object near the facility.
The Dubai Media Office confirmed that operations were suspended for safety reasons, stating, “For the safety of passengers, airport staff, and airline crew, operations at Dubai International (DXB) have been temporarily suspended.” Initially, Emirates announced a complete suspension of all flights to and from Dubai until further notice.
During the incident, four employees were reported injured, and a terminal sustained damage. The government clarified that the airport had not been attacked, describing the situation as a limited incident that resulted in no serious injuries.
This incident comes amidst heightened tensions in the region, as Iran has been launching missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf countries since February 28, 2026. The air defenses of the United Arab Emirates have been actively responding to these threats.
In light of the recent events, the Dubai Media Office advised travelers, “Please do not travel to the airport unless you have been contacted by your airline that your flight is confirmed, as schedules continue to change.” This warning underscores the ongoing uncertainty surrounding flight operations.
As the situation develops, observers are closely monitoring the safety measures being implemented at Dubai International Airport and the broader implications for air travel in the region. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full impact of the incident on future flight schedules.
